We’re seeking an Internal Audit Consultant to help manage our client portfolio of outsourced and co-sourced audit functions. This senior role involves working in a dynamic environment, ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks, and coordinating key client relationships.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement internal audit policies, procedures, and programmes
- Manage and conduct internal audits within agreed timelines
- Prepare client-specific audit plans after conducting risk assessments
- Recommend improvements to internal controls, operational efficiency, and accounting procedures
- Report findings and recommendations to clients’ management and boards
- Oversee risk areas and control weaknesses in clients’ operations
- Conduct follow-up reviews on financial, operational, or regulatory deficiencies
- Interface with clients to optimize processes and resources
- Perform internal audits, governance reviews, and risk assessments
- Prepare audit working papers and reports following firm's methodology
- Review junior auditors’ work for quality assurance
- Assist in preparing client proposals and internal audit plans
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Internal Audit
- Experience in Risk Management
- CIA, CISA, CPA, or PCA qualifications
- Strong writing, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Fluent in English (Maltese is an asset)
- Proven leadership skills to coach and develop team members
