RSM Malta is growing, and we are seeking an experienced and strategic Audit Director to lead our internal audit function. This is a key leadership role responsible for providing independent assurance, enhancing internal controls, and supporting business integrity and risk management.

Responsibilities:
- Shape the long-term vision for the audit function and implement short- and medium-term strategic plans.
- Contribute to the broader firm strategy, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.
- Lead the delivery of audit services to a portfolio of local and international clients.
- Provide strategic insights and guidance on financial reporting best practices.
- Ensure client satisfaction through effective engagement management and feedback integration.
- Serve as audit principal for key engagements, where applicable.
- Drive revenue growth and profitability through client relationship management, engagement efficiency, and value-based pricing.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities; support proposal development and presentations.
- Monitor billing, collections, and the overall financial performance of the audit service line.
- Identify and mitigate areas of audit and operational risk.
- Ensure full compliance with internal policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Evaluate and continuously improve the client service model and quality standards.
- Lead, coach, and mentor managers to develop high-performing teams.
- Support recruitment, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-focused team culture.
Requirements:
- Must be in possession of an MQF level 7 qualification (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in audit, assurance, or similar.
- A recognised professional qualification (ex: ACCA, CPA, ACA) is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of the following frameworks:
- Demonstrated ability to persuade, negotiate, and influence at senior stakeholder level, including Boards and Audit Committees.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and confidently.
- Strong mentorship and leadership capabilities, with experience in talent development and succession planning.
- Excellent briefing, report writing, and presentation skills, including experience preparing materials for C-suite or board-level audiences.
